Job summary

Aviso is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit team in Canada. The role reports to the Manager, Internal Audit and entails planning and executing the internal audit plan, evaluating governance processes, and delivering recommendations to strengthen controls.

You will contribute to the ongoing development of Aviso's Internal Audit Practices and QA Improvement Program, partnering with management to implement improvements and drive assurance across the control environment.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in accounting/finance or related field is required.
• Relevant professional certification (CPA/CIA/CISA or equivalent) is required.
• 5+ years of progressive internal audit experience, preferably in financial services.
• Fluent English required; bilingual French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and independently conduct audit engagements and follow-up reviews as determined by the internal audit plan.
• Deliver high quality work on time and in compliance with leading practices and IIA standards.
• Plan, perform, evaluate, summarize and communicate activities in a professional, independent and objective manner.
• Discuss audit findings with management and agree on actions to mitigate risks.
• Liaise with third-party auditors to complete the internal audit plan effectively.
• Become a trusted business partner to key stakeholders.
• Provide guidance to junior team members.
• Propose new approaches using data analytics, data visualization and reporting to improve department performance.

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance or related field is required
• Relevant certification (Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or other applicable professional certification) is required
• 5+ years of progressive internal audit experience, preferably within the financial services industry
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization, including senior management
• Experience with audit management software and data analytics is an asset
• Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $83,000 - $100,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
