Role Description

Arcadis Canada is seeking an experienced Environmental Field Technician to join our Resilience team in Atlantic Canada. This role sits within the Global Business Area of Resilience and will support our many active remediation and environmental projects. The successful candidate will coordinate and execute activities assigned by Project Managers related to the execution of environmental projects, real‑time instrumentation, oversight of the installation of various remediation/treatment systems, and compliance sampling. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of instrumentation and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and make repairs as required.

Role Accountabilities

As a Senior Environmental Field Technician, your responsibilities include supporting environmental site assessments, risk assessments, and remediation projects under the direction and guidance of a Project Manager. This includes conducting site visits and inspections, monitoring and supervising drilling and/or remediation activities, preparing field notes, collecting soil and groundwater samples, supporting data tabulation, and writing environmental reports. We are looking for a candidate with experience with FCSAP, PFAS, and who has completed contaminated sites field work at government sites. Travel to sites around Atlantic Canada will assume approximately 85% of the time and is required.

The successful candidate will also be accountable for:

  • Demonstrating knowledge of real‑time instrumentation systems
  • Drilling supervision and well construction
  • Groundwater and surface water sample collection programs
Qualifications & Experience

The requirements for this role include:

  • Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a related field
  • A designation of C. Tech or C.E.T is required
  • 8–10 years of experience in environmental fieldwork

Arcadis is also seeking a candidate who is mechanically inclined, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. The Senior Environmental Field Technician will also have:

  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with FCSAP, PFAS, Completion of Contaminated Sites Field Work at Government Sites
