Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to deliver space optimization, occupancy planning and cost-controlled design concepts. You will lead CAD layouts, 3-D renderings and vendor coordination to meet client needs within budgets and timelines.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Interior Design, LEED/building-code knowledge, and strong project management with excellent communication and client service skills. The position is full-time in Canada with a focus on office environments.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design.
• Experience in interior design and documentation.
• Familiarity with LEED, building codes and safety regulations.
• Strong cost estimating and project specification skills.
• Excellent client service and ability to manage expectations.

Responsibilities

• Performs interior design activities including needs analysis, programming, stacking, blocking, finishes selection, design options, estimating, sample boards, specification writing, tender drawing creation, renderings, contractor management, deficiency identification and problem solving.
• Develops material cost estimates and tender documents; creates schedules and tracks progress against timelines.
• Prepares technical documentation and user guides; supports design process improvements.
• Renders design concepts in 3-D and creates work drawings, plans and models using CAD tools.
• Acts as primary client contact, conducts site visits, and secures approvals from stakeholders.
• Ensures compliance with building codes and liaises with authorities for layout approvals.
• Maintains relationships with vendors and monitors progress to ensure quality delivery.
