We’re on the hunt for a dynamic Senior Designer to lead front-end project delivery for corporate workplace interiors in our Toronto studio. You’ll translate client needs into high-energy, innovative design concepts that align with vision and expectations. This leadership role centers on strategy, visioning, and the full creative process from concept through completion, guiding a team of intermediate and junior designers to craft award-winning, custom design solutions. With a minimum of 10 years of experience, you’ll bring refined design chops, a standout portfolio, and the ability to manage client relationships, resources, and project outcomes with confidence. If you’re passionate about corporate workplace design and want to shape bold, high-profile spaces, this is your role.

Role responsibilities
  • Lead and direct design from concept to completion, translating client requirements into forward-thinking, high-energy concepts.
  • Provide strong front-end leadership on projects, shaping strategy, visioning, and the overall creative process.
  • Manage and mentor a team of intermediate and junior designers, including day-to-day oversight, budgets, and schedules.
  • Actively participate in studio resourcing meetings to ensure staffing aligns with project needs.
  • Maintain continuous liaison with the Partner responsible for assigned projects, ensuring alignment and accountability.
  • Manage client relationships, navigate concerns, and resolve disputes to maintain momentum and satisfaction.
  • Share knowledge and mentor others, contributing to knowledge leadership within the studio.
  • Oversee the completion of permittable drawings, including dialogue with subconsultants.
  • Assist in sourcing and selecting new Junior and Intermediate staff to strengthen the team.
  • Communicate work progress and deliverables regularly to senior staff, ensuring proper handover for coverage when needed.
  • Represent the studio at industry events and participate in firm activities that contribute to culture.
  • Contribute to industry and firm participation beyond project work, fostering a collaborative and innovative studio environment.
  • Demonstrate successful completion of the NCIDQ examination.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate workplace interior design projects.
  • Exceptional and refined design skills with a portfolio of beautiful, innovative concepts and projects.
  • Proven leadership experience overseeing project teams, budgets, and schedules.
  • Strong client management abilities, with experience managing and resolving client concerns.
  • Experience in producing permittable drawings and coordinating with subconsultants.
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior/intermediate designers.
  • Active involvement in industry events and firm culture initiatives.
  • NCIDQ certification completed.
