Job summary

JLL is seeking Lead HVAC Technicians to support our industrial client in Fort McMurray. You will lead and perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair HVAC systems, and ensure safety and reliability in critical operations.

The role requires hands-on expertise with chillers, boilers, and air handling equipment, plus strong BAS/DDC knowledge. You will work with Facilities Managers, technicians, and contractors to uphold uptime and safety standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with completion of accredited HVAC technical training program or apprenticeship.
3–5 years of hands-on HVAC maintenance and repair experience in commercial/industrial facilities.
Valid HVAC/R certification or RACM license as required.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, air handlers, exhaust systems, and rooftops.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures and perform repairs to minimize downtime.
Respond to service calls and emergencies to restore system functionality.
Monitor BAS and adjust HVAC controls to optimize performance and energy efficiency.
Document maintenance activities and parts usage in CMMS with accurate notes.
Maintain HVAC parts inventory and coordinate procurement.
Identify safety hazards and escalate as needed to prevent incidents.
Collaborate with vendors during major repairs or retrofits to meet specs.
