Job summary

A mining company in Northeastern Ontario seeks a Community Relations Officer to oversee Indigenous workforce development and cultural initiatives. Responsibilities include strengthening relationships with Indigenous Nations, coordinating cultural events, and promoting a culture of equity and inclusion. Ideal candidates should have a diploma in a relevant field and experience in community engagement. This position involves a 4/3 work schedule and may require occasional travel within Ontario.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years overseeing Indigenous workforce development.
  • Proven ability to lead culturally sensitive initiatives.
  • Strong strategic communication skills necessary.
  • Experience managing training budgets and program evaluation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Indigenous awareness training and cultural programming.
  • Coordinate cultural events ensuring alignment with Indigenous traditions.
  • Strengthen engagement with Partner Indigenous Nations.
  • Support departmental objectives in strategic planning.
  • Monitor progress toward RAP commitments.
