Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a technical integration specialist to own end-to-end delivery of renewable asset integration projects using the Unity APM SaaS platform in Canada. You will translate site requirements into technical designs and manage connectivity with SCADA, cloud APIs, and data loggers.

You will collaborate with project managers and lead technical discussions with clients, supporting UAT and KPI calculations across Linux/Windows environments and SQL databases.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent practical experience in engineering or energy systems.
• 3+ years in renewable energy sector.
• Strong understanding of energy performance concepts (PR, capacity factor, availability).
• Experience analyzing time-series data for anomalies and errors.
• Proven written/spoken English and client-facing communication.
• Ability to lead technical discussions with clients.
• Experience with asset performance management (APM) platforms and data integrations.
• Familiarity with SCADA, Linux/Windows, SQL, JSON/XML/CSV, and cloud REST APIs.
• Knowledge of industrial protocols (OPC, Modbus, IEC 104) and cloud platforms (AWS).

• Validate signal quality and calculation accuracy through structured testing and resolve data issues.
• Support clients during user acceptance testing (UAT), explain performance results, and resolve discrepancies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, tools, and data quality standards.

Requirements

• Technical degree in engineering, energy systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in the renewable energy sector.
• Strong understanding of energy performance concepts, including performance ratio (PR), capacity factor, availability, curtailment, and basic electrical principles (AC/DC, voltage types, and reactive power).
• Ability to analyze time-series data and identify anomalies, discrepancies, or calculation errors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead technical discussions directly with clients.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Analytical mindset and strong ability to learn new technical domains.
• Experience with asset performance management (APM) platforms or other energy monitoring and control platforms.
• Good understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including secure site-to-site connections (e.g., IPsec tunnels).
• Experience with Linux and Windows environments and SQL databases.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Experience with structured data formats (JSON, XML, Excel, and CSV).
• Familiarity with historian database or data logger integrations (N3uron, Campbell Scientific LoggerNet, etc.).
• Knowledge of industrial protocols such as OPC, Modbus, and IEC 104.
• Experience with cloud integrations and REST APIs.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams and network architecture diagrams.
• Knowledge of operations and maintenance (O&M) in the solar or wind sectors, or familiarity with revenue-grade metering concepts.
