Job summary

Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) seeks a Hydrotechnical Engineer to advance water management for global mining projects. You will work from our Vancouver, Sudbury, Toronto, or Fredericton offices, leading elements of design and client interactions with a focus on safety and reliability.

You will apply advanced modeling tools and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver feasible, resilient solutions across feasibility to mine closure, with a hybrid work arrangement and ongoing professional

Qualifications

A civil engineering degree is required; a master’s degree is an asset.
Ten years of civil design experience related to surface water controls for mining projects.
Eligible to register as a professional engineer in Canada.
Experience in hydrotechnical design analyses (e.g., water balance, open channel flow, erosion protection).
Ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and build client relationships.
Excellent communication skills for technical reports and project correspondence.

Responsibilities

Work with the latest software versions and contribute to mine water management projects.
Develop mine site wide water balance and water quality models.
Design hydrotechnical components for tailings storage facilities for global projects.
Incorporate climate change resilience into hydrotechnical design.
Contribute to risk assessments and dam safety reviews.
Lead and mentor junior staff and build client rapport throughout projects.
