Job summary

Aquent is seeking an experienced Hybrid Interaction & Visual Designer to shape modern digital experiences across core customer-facing products. You’ll bridge complex workflows, data visualization, and polished visuals within an agile team.

You will collaborate with product managers, researchers, engineers, and executives to drive solutions from discovery through delivery, ensuring accessibility and a high aesthetic standard.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional digital product design experience across web, mobile, and multi-channel platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Visual Communications, CS or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design with IA, wireframes, interactions, prototyping, and visual craft.
• Advanced proficiency in design tools (Figma) and remote collaboration platforms (Mural, Miro).
• Experience participating in usability testing and translating research into design decisions.
• Strong ability to articulate design strategy and present to senior stakeholders.

We are seeking an experienced Hybrid Interaction & Visual Designer to shape modern digital experiences across our core customer-facing products. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex workflows, data visualization, and polished visual execution within an iterative, agile environment.

You will act as an interaction design subject-matter expert while bringing high aesthetic standards to life, collaborating closely with product managers, researchers, engineers, and executive stakeholders to drive digital solutions from early discovery through to delivery.

What You Will Do

Design Strategy & Facilitation

• Act as the interaction design subject-matter expert across cross-functional product teams.
• Translate complex data sets and multifaceted workflows into intuitive user interface patterns and visualizations that drive task performance and user comprehension.
• Lead ideation workshops, collaborative design sprints, and design critique sessions.
• Evaluate interaction systems for accessibility, inclusivity, and technical feasibility, providing clear design rationale to leadership and technical partners.

Artifact Creation & Systems Design

• Combine interaction principles, visual design theory, and research insights to deliver end-to-end design solutions.
• Produce everything from low-fidelity wireframes and user flows to high-fidelity UI specifications, responsive layouts, and interactive micro-interactions.
• Build advanced prototypes to validate complex interactions and supply comprehensive delivery specifications to engineering teams.
• Maintain consistency by contributing to and auditing design system components, patterns, and interaction standards.

Research Integration & Testing

• Partner with UX researchers—and lead targeted evaluative research—to ground design decisions in verifiable user feedback.
• Plan and facilitate usability tests, synthesize findings, and iterate rapidly based on observed user behaviors.
• Conduct competitive audits and UX benchmarking to identify market trends and opportunities for innovation.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional digital product design experience creating intuitive, responsive interfaces across web, mobile, and multi-channel platforms.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Visual Communications, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design case studies, showing information architecture, wireframing, interaction models, prototyping, and refined visual craft for complex applications.
• Design & Prototyping Craft: Advanced proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Figma) and remote collaboration platforms (e.g., Mural, Miro).
• Research Literacy: Direct experience participating in or conducting usability testing (e.g., via UserTesting.com) and translating qualitative and quantitative research data into actionable product designs.
• Communication: Proven ability to articulate design strategy, present complex concepts clearly to senior stakeholders, and advocate for design decisions using sound rationale.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or relevant advanced certification in HCI, Design, or a related discipline.
• Experience navigating large, regulated enterprise environments (such as financial services, fintech, healthcare, or enterprise SaaS).
• Strong grasp of design thinking frameworks and modern agile delivery methodologies.
• Deep knowledge of web and mobile accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA/AAA).
