Ocean Capital has an opportunity for a Senior Human Resources Generalist, who will support specific HR initiatives and operational requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of HR activities, as well as be assigned to support special projects and tasks as required. This role will provide valued direction, service, support and advice to senior leadership, managers and employees, and be proactive in promoting human resources best practices, policies and procedures. The individual will be part of a team of HR experts within Ocean Capital, however this role will also work closely with key businesses specific to their HR operational needs.

Responsibilities

Other responsibilities include:

  • Strategic People Initiatives: Be part of the HR team who will be key in preparing the organization for the future – participating in the implementation of strategic people initiatives including policy and process improvement, succession planning, and talent management.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership: Partner with senior leadership on complex initiatives, including succession planning, organizational plans, and philosophy, setting the stage for strategic growth.
  • Legal and Tax Compliance: Analyze and provide recommendations on complex employee situations including working in other countries, contract management, and employee support.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Support the HR due diligence process for acquisitions, provide guidance on best practice, and support implementation requirements where appropriate.
  • Supporting the Business with Analytics: Partner with the business to provide key insights and action supported by people measures and analytics. Critically analyzing the impact of HR practices to the business and how to measure success.
  • Recruitment: Manage a unique Candidate experience in the recruitment process for select positions while building a pipeline for talent.
  • Employee Relations: Work with senior leadership, managers and employees in day-to-day circumstances that require HR leadership.
Qualifications

Required education, experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong problem-solving ability and curiosity
  • A passion for HR with a clear understanding to its role within a company’s strategy.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Sound research and business analytic skills.
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables and work independently or within a team.
  • Understands and appreciate the need for confidentiality.
  • Expert knowledge of MS office and Power Point.
  • Previous experience with an HRIS system
  • The successful candidate will have the right blend of education and experience, which may include an undergraduate degree, 7+ years’ experience in a Human Resources, and a CPHR designation.
