We are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Business Partner to join a busy manufacturing facility in Cornwall.

What You'll Do :
  • Assist in the negotiations of collective agreements, mediate labor disputes and grievances and provide advice on employee and labor relations.
  • Conduct and lead internal investigations.
  • Develop and maintain effective key stakeholders’ relationships within client groups and provide your support in HR related matters
  • Collaborate with the Director, Human Resources, the HR team and business leaders to ensure alignment of programs and policies with overall strategic direction.
  • Support the execution of HR strategies, policies, procedures, and programs to sustain continued growth and retention.
  • Respond to questions from management and employees on a variety of HR matters and escalating higher level and serious matters to Director of HR.
  • Facilitate day to day employee / labor relations, including complaint resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Strong teamwork orientation as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Provide support and assist with hourly and salaried personnel recruitment and provide onboarding support to hiring managers.
  • Assist in implementing various HR initiatives, including providing recommendations on process improvements.
  • Other HR projects as assigned by Management
What We're Looking For :
  • Post-secondary degree / education in Human Resources; CHRP or working towards CHRP designation is an asset.
  • 5 years’ direct experience in a specialized HR / LR experience including : Hands-on HR role
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment industry
  • Extensive working knowledge of Employment Standards, Human Rights, and Labor legislation required
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills combined with demonstrated problem solving ability.
  • Results orientated, self-starter with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Superior collaborative and teamwork skills with the ability to quickly shift priorities to meet organization requirements collectively.
  • Strong professionalism and diplomacy pertaining to all areas of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
