Job summary

WorkSafeBC is seeking an Industry & Program Specialist – Health & Safety to lead the creation and implementation of occupational health and safety programs. You will engage with BC stakeholders to develop strategies and resources that prevent workplace injury, disease, and death, and you will deliver education to ensure regulatory compliance and awareness of workers' rights and responsibilities.

The role requires a degree in a related discipline, with at least nine years of progressive

Qualifications

  • Requires a degree in a related discipline.
  • Nine years of progressive professional experience and at least 3 years of health and safety experience.
  • Experience in developing risk assessments, designing, delivering and implementing health and safety programs.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with BC stakeholders to develop strategies, programs and resources to prevent workplace injury, disease, and death.
  • Provide education and support related to workplace health and safety, focusing on regulatory compliance and workers' rights/responsibilities.
  • Travel overnight in BC on occasion; local travel may be routinely required.
  • Work evenings and weekends periodically.
