About the Role

The Senior Hardware Product Manager, Caper is responsible for driving the product strategy and execution of Caper’s hardware products including carts and ecosystem accessories. Caper Carts are industry leading AI-powered smart shopping carts that make grocery shopping a magical experience for customers while delivering unrivaled value and continuously unlocking new opportunities for retailers.

Your mission will be to shape and deliver intuitive and dependable customer experiences that make shopping on Caper Carts independent, efficient and delightful, while also being easy for retailers to deploy and operate at scale.

In this role you will define and execute on the roadmap of Caper hardware, for our next generations of Caper Carts (Model 4) and its supporting ecosystem accessories.

You will partner closely with our Head of Innovation & Strategy to define the roadmap and planning initiatives to drive success of our in-market Caper Cart hardware products while also defining the future hardware plans, working cross-functionally with design, engineering, data science, operations, and QA through delivery. You will work with your team to derive and review insights gathered from many sources, including speaking regularly with in-store customers, and retail partners, and reviewing product data and industry trends.

About the Job
  • Lead product planning, product & customer discovery, the product development process, effort estimation, and collaboration with teams across the organization (i.e. Engineering, Design, Business Development).
  • Identify opportunities via qualitative & quantitative research, case studies, and reviews of industry-standard methodologies.
  • Intake & validate new ideas through a set of frameworks and drive them into implementable projects.
  • Serve as the point person for your product area to leadership and across the organization.
  • Promote best design practices and user experiences while creating a scalable & easy-to-use product that connects with shoppers and retailers.
  • Evaluate shopper/partner needs and challenges to develop and build effective solutions (from top-level goals to detailed operational and system details).
  • Maintain alignment across partner-facing teams.
About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience
  • Experience managing a consumer-facing hardware product
  • Knowledge of industry standard design tools and strong design thinking practices
  • Strong understanding of an empathetic, flexible and iterative approach to product development
  • Demonstrated ability to stand behind design decisions that focus on identifying the right ideas alongside the business’s focus on growth
  • Proven experience leveraging data and metrics to make good decisions when confronted with ambiguity.
  • Strong experience presenting to large groups & influencing people to run towards goals
  • Strong ability to manage and align multiple stakeholders
  • Must be located near one of our San Francisco, Toronto, or New York office locations to support periodic requirements to engage directly with the hardware.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineering background or strong understanding of technical implementation at a high level
  • Experience with AI, computer vision, or IoT products preferred
