Job description

We are seeking an experienced Hardware Consultant to lead the architecture, development, and verification of FPGA solutions for advanced 4G and 5G radio products. This role will play a key part in the design and implementation of FPGA IP, signal processing functions, and high‑speed communications interfaces used within Radio Units and O‑RAN‑based wireless infrastructure. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across the full development lifecycle, contributing to system architecture, FPGA design methodologies, verification strategies, and product roadmap decisions while mentoring other team members and driving technical excellence across the organization.

What you’ll do
  • Define and develop FPGA architectures and reusable IP blocks for 4G/5G Radio Units and wireless infrastructure products.
  • Design, implement, and integrate complex RTL components using Verilog, SystemVerilog, and/or VHDL.
  • Contribute to system‑level architecture decisions, ensuring compliance with 3GPP, O‑RAN Alliance, and product‑specific requirements.
  • Develop and execute FPGA verification strategies, including UVM‑based verification environments, simulation, and hardware validation activities.
  • Optimize FPGA implementations for timing closure, resource utilization, throughput, latency, and overall system performance.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, software, systems, and radio development teams to ensure successful integration and hardware/software interoperability.
  • Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentoring, architecture guidance, and development of engineering best practices.
  • Support strategic technology initiatives, technical investigations, customer discussions, and long‑term product planning activities.
What you’ll need to get the job done
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience developing FPGA solutions for wireless communications, telecommunications, or other high‑performance digital systems.
  • Strong expertise in FPGA architecture, RTL design, IP development, and verification methodologies.
  • Experience with wireless communications protocols and standards including LTE, 5G NR, eCPRI, CPRI, and PTP.
  • Familiarity with high‑speed interfaces and protocols such as JESD204B/C, Ethernet, PCIe, AXI, and SERDES technologies.
  • Proficiency with FPGA development tools including Vivado, Quartus, MATLAB/Simulink, HDL Coder, and modern version control workflows.
What will make us REALLY love you
  • Experience developing FPGA solutions for O‑RAN‑based Radio Units or other wireless infrastructure products.
  • Strong background in digital signal processing, radio architectures, and high‑speed data path design.
  • Participation in industry organizations, standards development activities, technical publications, patents, or other recognized technical leadership initiatives.
