Job summary

Prince Rupert Port Authority is seeking a GIS Specialist to lead the creation, execution, and maintenance of GIS solutions across internal teams and partners. The role requires developing, analyzing, and maintaining geospatial data and cartographic materials using GIS software.

The position reports to the Manager, Digital Business and involves collaborating with suppliers to ensure GIS data interoperability, along with ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a discipline such as Computer Science, Geography, or Civil Engineering.
• ITIL 4 Foundation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain GIS solutions per client specifications.
• Plan, develop, and manage GIS projects and applications.
• Oversee data flow, governance, and distribution for GIS support.
• Create, edit, and manage GIS databases, layers, and features.
• Perform spatial analysis and modeling using GIS tools.
• Prepare and present GIS reports and visualizations for clients and leadership.
• Provide GIS training and support to staff and stakeholders.
