Job summary

Stantec in Canada is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with dam specialization to lead design, analysis, and construction efforts for major dam, reservoir, and hydropower projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geological, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s or PhD an asset).
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Professional Engineer in good standing with P.Eng designation, or eligibility to obtain license to practice.
• Experience in dam engineering, dam safety, geotechnical design, and/or dam construction.
• Knowledge of relevant Canadian and global dam guidelines and standards helpful.
• General knowledge of geotechnical software solutions (GeoStudio, LeapFrog, Rocscience).
• Demonstrated ability to work and manage projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, analysis, and construction of dams, reservoirs, dykes, spillways, and hydropower projects across Canada.
• Conduct Dam Safety Reviews and inspections in accordance with Canadian Dam Association Guidelines.
• Manage and coordinate geotechnical-focused and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Mentor and be mentored by colleagues across a breadth of experience fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry partners.
• Contribute to business development, proposal preparation, and market expansion initiatives.
• Drive innovation by leading digitization initiatives, advanced numerical modeling, and emerging technologies.

Our Dam Practitioners Work Collaboratively To Deliver Innovative And Sustainable Solutions To Our Clients And Communities On Unique Dam, Reservoir, And Hydropower Projects Nationally And Globally. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, You Will Have The Opportunity To

• Support the design, analysis, and construction of dams, reservoirs, dykes, spillways, and hydropower projects across Canada.
• Conduct Dam Safety Reviews and inspections in accordance with Canadian Dam Association Guidelines, with opportunities for short-duration travel within Canada.
• Manage and coordinate geotechnical-focused and multidisciplinary project teams, commensurate with your experience and capabilities.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry partners.

Pay Range

• Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario-$128,600.00 - $192,900.00 Annually
• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$136,300.00 - $204,500.00 Annually
• $144,000.00 - $216,000.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
