Job summary

Our client in Toronto seeks a Senior/Principal Resource Geologist to lead mineral resource estimation, reporting, and due diligence within a multinational geology group. You will cultivate client relationships and advance consultancy skills across projects, including NI 43-101/JORC/compliance and cross-border engagements.

The role is hybrid from Toronto, with senior responsibilities, travel, and opportunity for leadership within a diverse team of geologists and engineers.

Qualifications

• A degree in geology or engineering.
• 8+ years of applied resource estimation experience in an exploration or operational capacity.
• Professional registration with APGO or PEO, or eligibility to obtain it.
• Strong geostatistical skills and proficiency with computerized resource estimation tools.
• Sound geological understanding of ore deposits with 3D geological modeling skills.
• Experience with modern implicit modelling tools will be beneficial.
• Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Knowledge and experience of conditional simulation techniques will be an asset.
• Established network within mining industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Some prior consulting experience will be preferred.
• Dynamic and energetic, capacity to mentor junior consultants.
• Capacity to act as a Qualified Person or equivalent to satisfy NI 43-101, JORC, SAMREC, etc.

Job description

Our client, an independent, international consulting practice, is seeking a Senior/Principal Resource Geologist to join their North American Geology Group, a diverse cross-section of structural geologists, resource geologists, geostatisticians and mining engineers. This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid position based out of the Toronto office, paying $120-170k+, depending on experience, plus RRSP matching, share purchasing opportunities and a competitive vacation and benefits package.

As a senior to principal level consultant, your general responsibilities will include mineral resource estimation, technical reporting and due diligence project reviews. An important aspect of working for us is the individual growth of your consulting skills within the broader global consulting group. Our firm encourages all consultants to grow their consultancy under the broader company umbrella. As such, the successful applicant will be expected to establish and maintain client relationships.

• A degree in geology or engineering
