Job summary

Innodata Inc. is seeking a hands-on Lead Application Support Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications running on Google App Engine and microservices.

The role focuses on availability, production support, incident response, troubleshooting, and incremental feature delivery across test, pre-production, and production environments. The ideal candidate will quickly understand a complex microservices landscape, restore service during incidents, and responsibly push changes

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Application Support or related field with enterprise-scale apps.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and App Engine.
• Expertise in microservices, REST/gRPC, and distributed tracing.
• Proficient in deploying across multiple environments with release validation and change control.
• Programming skills in Python, Java, Node.js, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support and maintenance for enterprise apps on Google App Engine.
• Act as first contact for incidents: triage, diagnose, restore, and close within SLAs/SLOs.
• Troubleshoot errors, latency, and service failures; implement sustainable fixes.
• Design and deliver feature enhancements based on user and business needs.
• Own build, release, and deployment activities across environments with validations.
• Manage App Engine deployments, versions, traffic, canary releases, and rollbacks.
• Perform root-cause analysis for recurring issues and implement durable improvements.
• Build and maintain monitoring, logging, dashboards, and error reporting using Cloud tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Platform, QA, Data, and Infra.
• Create runbooks, deployment procedures, and operational documentation.
