Skillsearch is delighted to be working with a leading games studio in their search for a highly experienced Senior Gameplay Programmer. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building cutting-edge titles while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with Unreal Engine.

About the Role

As part of this team, you’ll be responsible for designing engaging gameplay systems, collaborating with creative teams to bring mechanics to life, and developing tools that empower developers across the studio. You’ll also contribute to cross-platform development, ensuring high-quality player experiences on multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust, scalable gameplay systems in Unreal Engine
  • Collaborate with designers and artists to bring new features and mechanics to life
  • Build and maintain tools and pipelines (e.g., level editors, animation tools, asset processing) to support production workflows
  • Optimize and debug gameplay code to deliver smooth, stable player experiences
  • Manage cross-platform compatibility and porting tasks
  • Stay informed on new technologies, tools, and best practices in Unreal Engine and game development

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years in game programming, with 7+ years of Unreal Engine experience
  • Strong expertise in C++ and Blueprints, with a deep understanding of gameplay systems and architecture
  • A forward-thinking approach to using AI as a tool to enhance workflows and focus on high-value content
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and optimization skills
  • Flexibility to work across gameplay, architecture, and tools development
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Perforce)
  • Background in cross-platform development and porting (highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages (a plus)
  • Familiarity with C# and Unity (a plus)
