Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior software engineer to design and build scalable applications for data acquisition, management, and visualization, spanning front-end, back-end, and database design with React, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL.

You will design, deploy, and scale ML inference services on Ray Serve and Kubernetes, manage cloud infrastructure via Terraform and GitOps, and collaborate closely with product teams to shape engineering goals across multi-cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of building and operating applications in production.
• Full-stack depth across front-end, back-end, database design, and software/network security.
• Production Kubernetes experience.
• Deep infrastructure-as-code practice with Terraform; Terragrunt is a plus.
• Experience with GitOps deployment patterns.
• Comfort operating in multi-cloud environments: AWS primary, GCP/Azure secondary.
• Experience with HPC schedulers such as Slurm.
• Fluency in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience with React, GraphQL, and Docker.
• Mature CI/CD experience, including GitHub Actions, reproducible builds, and environment parity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field is nice to have, not required.
• Experience with Claude Code or comparable agentic tooling
• Ability to structure repositories, context, and documentation for production-quality agent output
• Experience building custom tooling such as MCP servers, skills, subagents, or hooks
• Judgment about where agents should be trusted and where they should be reviewed

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable applications for data acquisition, management, and visualization.
• Build and maintain full-stack Nota features, from React components through GraphQL schemas to PostgreSQL query performance.
• Design, deploy, and scale ML inference services on Ray Serve and Kubernetes, including model versioning, autoscaling, and observability.
• Architect and manage the cloud environment supporting data ingestion, querying, and computer vision/ML pipeline development and deployment.
• Own infrastructure as code and GitOps across multiple accounts and environments using Terraform, Terragrunt, and ArgoCD.
• Build CI/CD pipelines that enable researchers to ship models without filing tickets.
• Handle medical imaging data at scale, including DICOM ingestion, de-identification, format conversion, and reliable movement of terabytes.
• Work closely with the product team and external stakeholders to shape engineering goals and requirements.
• Expand responsibilities as the company grows to meet team and client needs.
