Job summary

Citi is seeking a Full stack Java Developer (Java/J2EE) to contribute to Banking Technology’s digital transformation. You will code product features, perform code and design reviews, and collaborate with global teams to deliver scalable solutions following Citi’s engineering standards.

The role requires strong Java, Spring, microservices, REST APIs, and SQL skills, plus Agile/Scrum experience. This is a full-time position based in Citi's technology environment with a competitive salary range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

• Experience with REST APIs and SQL databases.

Job Description

Banking Technology is looking for an experienced Full stack Java Developer (Java/J2EE) with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to be part of its ongoing digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Hands‑on coding of product features
• Perform code & design reviews consistently.
• As a global team member, analyze and collaborate technical solutions and strategies with the team and provide the optimum solution for our clients.
• Strictly follow Citi’s engineering standards and ensure these are followed across all modules in the project.
• Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts

Technology Skills

• Must have expert level (hands‑on) knowledge and understanding in JAVA/J2EE spring boot, REST APIs, spring framework stack
• Must have deep understanding of Microservice and its best practices, patterns is highly preferred
• Must have Strong MS SQL experience
• Must have experience in SCMs like GIT; and tools like JIRA
• Must have experience of applying OOPs concepts and producing highly modular and quality code
• Ability to contribute in high- and low-level system design (Sequence diagram, class diagrams)
• Strong systems analysis, design and architecture fundamentals, Unit Testing and other SDLC activities
• Agile/Scrum methodology experience is required

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development role
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
• Demonstrated technology leadership and management skills
• Strong communication skills, should be able to articulate effectively with business and other stakeholders
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
