  • Reviewing FOI requests, clarifying scope with requesters, tracking deadlines, coordinating record retrieval, and ensuring compliance with FIPPA timelines and requirements.
  • Assessing records for disclosure by analyzing sensitive information, applying legislative exemptions, preparing redactions, and developing recommendations for release decisions.

  • Coordinating with external parties and regulators by communicating with requesters, affected third parties, Ministry representatives, Indigenous communities, and the Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC) to resolve issues and manage appeals.
  • Supporting program oversight and continuous improvement by preparing briefing materials and CEO memoranda, maintaining FOI tracking and reporting, analyzing trends, and identifying opportunities to improve FOI processes and compliance.
  • Presenting findings from research and analysis on policy, legislative and regulatory amendments and best practices impacting FIPPA.
  • Using eDiscovery tools to support FOI requests and process FIPPA requests in compliance with legislated timelines.
  • Tracking and analyze FOI requests using appropriate systems and tools (e.g. eDiscovery), maintaining accurate records for reporting, decision-making, and historical analysis.
  • Analyzing FOI processes to identify improvement opportunities and support the FOI Supervisor in implementing changes that strengthen overall FOI quality and effectiveness.
  • Support the organization’s eDiscovery SME function by providing advanced troubleshooting and helping resolve technical and process issues with the FOI team, IT, and vendors.
Role Requirements

Our team consists of experts from diverse backgrounds, each bringing their unique perspectives and skills.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
