Job description

We're BlueCat—a Great Place to Work for good reason. Our team solves critical network challenges for some of the world's largest organizations. In simple terms, we manage the systems that keep networks running smoothly, securely, and reliably—the backbone infrastructure that powers digital transformation for enterprises globally. Our Intelligent Network Operations platform delivers and enables AI-driven agentic ops at scale, automating and simplifying how companies manage, secure, and optimize their networks.

But what makes us different is how we work: we believe great work happens in an environment where you're trusted, heard, and supported. With teams globally, we're building a workplace culture that values collaboration and integrity as much as innovation. If you're looking to advance your career with a company that invests in its people, this is it.

About The Role

The Senior FP&A Analyst, Systems & Automation, will report directly to the Director, FP&A. We are looking for a proactive and hands-on individual who lives in the intersection of FP&A and technology. This individual will own our planning and reporting system hands-on and actively build on automations and AI-assisted workflows, to support the scalability of the FP&A function and reduce manual, repetitive finance work for the whole team.

This individual has direct experience and can demonstrate designing and delivering an automated workflow and quantifying the impact of it, using tools like Claude, Claude Cowork or similar agentic AI platforms.

What You’ll Do
  • Own day-to-day administration and continuous improvement of Pigment, our FP&A system, including data integrity, model structure, and user support.
  • Act as the finance function's internal AI champion to drive constant workflow improvements and own the outcomes.
  • Identify manual, repetitive finance processes and build automated replacements – from scripted data pulls to AI-assisted reporting workflows.
  • Design and maintain driver-based financial models, forecasts, and dashboards used across budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Apply AI tools and lightweight automation (Python, SQL, Power Query, or similar) to streamline recurring reporting, flux analysis, and data consolidation.
  • Partner with Accounting and Rev Ops to pull, validate, and reconcile data across ERP, CRM, and other planning systems.
  • Document standard operating procedures for new automated workflows and train finance team members on adoption.
  • Support monthly/quarterly close, budgeting cycles, and ad hoc financial analysis for senior leadership.
  • Act as an internal champion for new technology and process improvements, driving adoption without formal management authority.
  • Additional ad hoc duties as required.
What You Bring
  • 3-6 years of experience in FP&A, financial systems, or a hybrid finance/analytics role.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one FP&A planning tool (Anaplan, Adaptive, Pigment, or similar), financial AI agents and generative AI/LLM tools.
  • Practical experience applying AI or automation tools to real finance workflows.
  • Comfortable owning a build end-to-end – mapping a manual process, designing the automated replacement, and rolling it out.
  • Strong SQL and advanced Excel/Power Query skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable partnering with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
Other Personal Characteristics
  • Brings a strong sense of urgency.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and pivot when necessary.
  • Very hands-on, ready to dive into the details.
  • Results-oriented individual who is a self-starter, energetic, resilient, and personally committed to achieving success.
  • Outstanding communication skills.

This position offers a salary range of $130,000-$155,000 CAD per year plus participation in a discretionary bonus plan. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and qualifications. The role is for an existing vacancy.

If you share our enthusiasm for the future of our company and are eager to contribute to our vibrant workplace, our comprehensive benefits encompass your health, financial well-being, and overall wellness, and we are committed to providing an exceptional work environment, enriching employee programs, and fostering a remarkable company culture. • A Professional Development Budget
  • Dedicated Wellness Days and Wellness Week
  • A Lifestyle Spending Account
