ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Senior Firewall Engineer will be responsible for architecting,, managing and deploying Firewalls throughout the Cognizant Business.
- Day-to-day coordination and collaboration with a wide array of IT groups, Information Security teams, business units, and client delivery teams.
- Build, maintain hardware, platform, and core application management including upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security controls – be familiar with security control frameworks from NIST or HIPAA and PCI.
- Participate in the Agile process to incrementally drive improvement of core security controls.
- Monitor, manage and tune core security controls.
- Develop and maintain process, Use Cases and standard operating procedure documentation for core security controls.
- Strong Troubleshooting skills.
- Participation in Customer calls and assist them in establishing remote connection between Cognizant and Customer.
- Participate in Internal & External Audits to demonstrate Network Security Control Compliance with standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 6+ years of progressive experience in Firewall Management & Web Proxy to include the following:
- Architecting, policy creation, platform management and troubleshooting of the Firewall and network technologies.
- Cisco ASA, FTD and Palo Alto firewalls (required). Knowledge of Zscaler Firewalls is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, LAN, WAN including routing and subnetting.
- Experience working in Cloud Environments Such As (Azure/AWS/GCP) and OnPremise Environments.
- Experience in Web Proxy Technologies like Forcepoint, Bluecoat & Zscaler is an added advantage.
- Experience with Visio or other diagram tools to create high level and low level designs for review of implementation requirements.
- In-Depth knowledge and working experience with Layer 2-7 Protocols and security technologies.
- Excellent technical aptitude, resourcefulness, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to identify security risks and weaknesses and provide security mitigation and remediation recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise with multiple security controls within multiple security domains.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically with strong attention to detail.
- Experience working with global teams across multiple time zones, cultures and languages.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience required.
- Knowledge of ISO 27001, PCI & HIPAA standards.
- CISM, CCNA, CCNP or other relevant information security industry recognized certification preferred.
- Relevant vendor certifications preferred (CISCO, Palo Alto).
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Project management experience.
- Experience migrating from Cisco to Palo Alto, Zscaler Firewall.
- Managing Vendor support.
