Job summary

The University of Calgary is seeking a Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting in Calgary to perform advanced accounting work in accordance with GAAP and PSAB standards. The role requires juggling multiple deadlines and providing resolution for complex issues.

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting, you will prepare financial information, analyses, and annual reports for agencies, and support process improvement across reporting workflows.

Qualifications

• CPA designation with a related university degree.
• 5+ years in accounting/analyst functions.
• Understanding PSAB is an asset.
• Experience with chart of accounts and internal reporting workflow.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial information, forecasts, and reports for governance and departments.
• Analyze results, investigate data, and adjust as needed.
• Develop reporting tools to analyze data from multiple sources.
• Supervise accounting clerks and provide training as needed.
• Coach and mentor business officers and managers on accounting issues.
