Qualifications

A career as a Senior Financial Planning Advisor at National Bank Financial (NBF) means supporting clients and NBF investment advisors (IA) in their financial planning needs by providing information and, most importantly, by preparing comprehensive financial plans.

The mission of the sector is to offer expertise and high-quality services in advanced financial planning, taxation, and estate planning.

Your job
  • Become one of the references in financial planning within the client advisory team of one of the largest asset management firms in Canada!
  • Conduct interviews with clients, establish a trust relationship with them, and create financial plans tailored to the needs of each high-net-worth client
  • Be a team player, maintain relationships with numerous internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage multiple complex cases with tight deadlines in a constantly evolving environment
  • Prepare and deliver training sessions on financial planning to investment advisors
  • Identify and develop business opportunities for all services and products offered by National Bank Financial
  • Understand business issues and, most importantly, participate in the development of practical solutions
Your team

Based at the South Shore offices of NBF, you will collaborate with your colleagues (financial planners, estate planners, and tax specialists) to support IA and clients in the South Shore region in financial planning (7 areas of intervention).

Prerequisites
  • 15 years of relevant experience
  • University degree in a relevant field (accounting, actuarial science, finance, economics, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of financial planning concepts, including personal and corporate taxation and pension plans
  • Significant experience in a consulting role
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with various types of professionals (investment advisors internal and external tax specialists, estate planners, etc.)
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts
  • Availability to travel to the greater South Shore NBF offices
Assets
  • Member of the Institut (Québécois) de planification financière
  • Experience or master's degree in taxation (or CICA Indepth tax course)
  • Knowledge of insurance strategies
  • Knowledge of the wealth management field
  • Member of Financial Planner Canada
Languages

English, French. Reason to require this language: you will need to serve clients who speak a language other than French regularly.
