Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited, Mirabel, QC, is seeking a Financial Controller for its Nunavut division. You will supervise accountants and administrative technicians, ensure accurate monthly/quarterly closes, and coordinate with the Corporate Office and external auditors.

English is the official language at the Nunavut operation, and you will drive SOX compliance and internal controls. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis while coaching the finance team and ensuring timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with CPA designation.
• 5-10 years of experience in financial/accounting field.
• Mining experience is considered an asset.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Oversee monthly and quarterly closing and reporting for divisional books.
• Approve and submit quarterly reports and financial statements to head office on schedule.
• Coordinate audits and respond to internal and external auditors.
• Support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and control environment.
• Manage and supervise administrative sub-department and invoicing/time-sheet processes.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and other planning exercises; coach finance staff.
