Job summary

A leading health provider in Windsor is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to manage statutory reporting and compliance. The role involves preparing financial statements, ensuring adherence to GAAP/IFRS across jurisdictions, and leading audit coordination. The ideal candidate has a degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA certification, and at least 4 years of relevant experience. This is a 12-month contract position with potential for full-time employment.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years’ experience with preparation of financial statements.
  • Experience with complex global consolidations, including foreign exchange translations.
  • Strong understanding of statutory reporting and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit statutory financial statements in compliance with local GAAP/IFRS.
  • Ensure timely filing of statutory reports, financial statements, and tax returns.
  • Coordinate and manage statutory audits for domestic and foreign entities.

As a part of the legal entity reporting team, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely statutory reporting while maintaining compliance with local GAAP/IFRS standards across various jurisdictions including audit coordination across multiple domestic and foreign entities. In this position, you\'ll navigate global compliance requirements, ensure financial integrity across all reporting processes, and drive reporting excellence across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities
  • Statutory Reporting and compliance: Prepare, review, and submit statutory financial statements in compliance with local GAAP/IFRS for domestic and foreign entities
  • Statutory Reporting and compliance: Ensure timely filing of statutory reports, financial statements, tax returns, and other regulatory filings across all relevant jurisdictions
  • Statutory Reporting and compliance: Support tax filings, transfer pricing documentation, and other compliance-related tasks.
  • Statutory Reporting and compliance: Coordinate and manage statutory audits for both domestic and foreign entities, ensuring all required documentation is available.
  • Statutory Reporting and compliance: Address auditor queries, reconcile differences, and implement audit recommendations.
  • Statutory Reporting and compliance: Ensure that audit timelines are met, and that all statutory audit requirements are satisfied across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Journal Entries & Month-End Close: Prepare and post journal entries for all required adjustments including intercompany transactions, management fees, etc.
  • Journal Entries & Month-End Close: Perform reconciliations of key accounts, including intercompany, foreign exchange, and accounts.
  • Journal Entries & Month-End Close: Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance statutory reporting processes
  • Journal Entries & Month-End Close: Collaborate with the broader finance team to improve the quality and reliability of financial data.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification
  • At least 4 years’ experience with preparation of financial statements
  • Working knowledge of developments in accounting standards, ie IFRS
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in technical accounting research and documentation of company’s position on complex accounting matters
  • Experience with complex global consolidations, including foreign exchange translations and intercompany transaction eliminations
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems preferably WorkDay and SAP
Great-to-haves
  • Experience in supervising team workflows, task delegation and review of financial deliverables
