Job summary

Bimbo Canada in Etobicoke, ON is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to support our Procurement Finance team with consolidation, forecasting, and variance analysis across multiple categories.

The role leads the annual budget process, develops reporting databases, collaborates with cross-functional teams including Bimbo Bakeries USA, and drives cost savings initiatives while maintaining rigor and accountability.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Power BI
• Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of audiences
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a high paced work environment
• Must be a proactive, team player who has the ability to work with limited supervision
• University or College degree in Accounting / Finance / Business
• CPA designation or enrollment in CPA Certification Program considered an asset
• Experience in procurement and/or consumer packaged goods considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Consolidate and review weekly/monthly results; perform root-cause variance analysis vs budget and prior year
• Maintain monthly forecast report for major ingredients and packaging; include Hedge vs Non-Hedged Exposure and PPV by item
• Provide detailed PPV & Inflation/Deflation reporting package for Commodities, Ingredients, Packaging, Copack, Imports, and FX at month end, quarter end, and year end
• Communicate business results to Procurement and Finance leaders
• Work closely with stakeholders & cross-functional teams including Bimbo Bakeries USA
• Lead the annual budget process for the Procurement team
• Accountable for development, production and optimization of information databases and standard reports
• Lead cost savings meetings with each of the Procurement teams and track targets and goals
• Reviews classifications of expenses for accuracy and appropriateness
• Assists with forecasting and analytics
• Train and develop Procurement team’s financial acumen
• Manage the reporting for the Blue Box recycling program as part of sustainability efforts
• Leverage previous experience and learn to optimize current reporting, daily tasks, etc
• Other Ad-hoc financial / business reporting as required

Hiring Requirements:

Bimbo Canada is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to support our Procurement Finance team with a variety of responsibilities, including, but not limited to consolidating financial analysis, forecasting, variance reporting, and leading the annual budget process. The Procurement Finance leader plays a critical role managing over $700 million of annual spend across a range of categories.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consolidate and review weekly and monthly results, performing root cause variance analysis versus budget, prior year, and other benchmarks as required
• Maintain monthly forecast report for all major ingredient and packaging categories including but not limited to Hedge vs Non-Hedged Exposure, PPV by item (vs plan, vs prior forecast), key ingredient/packaging price trends, and risks/opportunities
• Provide detailed PPV & Inflation/Deflation reporting package for Commodities, Ingredients, Packaging, Copack, Imports, and FX at month end, quarter end, and year end
• Communicate business results to Procurement and Finance leaders
• Work closely with various stakeholders & cross-functional teams including Bimbo Bakeries USA
• Lead the annual budget process for the Procurement team

The annual salary range for applicants is: $70,000 - $104,750 , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other factors.
