This open position is part of our Global Fund Oversight team located in Montreal and Toronto. The Global Fund Oversight team is in charge of reviewing and validating the Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation for Manulife’s internal and external funds. We are looking for a result-oriented person with a good understanding of investment accounting and in-depth knowledge of financial markets.

Responsibilities
  • Validate the daily calculation of Net Asset Values for North American and International funds.
  • Perform inquiries and seek relevant information from appropriate external and internal parties (such as NAV Agents) to adequately finalize investigations.
  • Independently lead and/or participate in projects aimed at developing and implementing new systems and products, as assigned by Managers.
  • Be ready to work from time to time outside of regular business hours to accommodate for spikes in activity or calls with our international partners.
  • Prepare, verify and organize the information required for the preparation of management reports and other financial documents.
  • Support colleagues in their tasks or with any other issues that could arise.
  • Implement and validate changes to oversight procedures and update documentation to ensure operational objectives and standards are met.
  • Use appropriate judgment in dealing with unexpected issues and requests, demonstrating an ability to prioritize work and mitigate risk.
  • Assist Managers in performing second level reviews for files completed by junior team members.
  • Act as a coach or reference person for topics and issues that are deemed riskier or more sensitive.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience, with exposure to fund accounting and/or investment operations.
  • Good knowledge of and/or experience with securities instruments, settlements, foreign exchange transactions, reconciliations and investment accounting.
  • Result-oriented, with the ability to react quickly, to adapt to changes and to meet tight deadlines.
  • Accounting designation, an asset.
  • Bilingual, French and English, written and spoken, an asset.
  • Demonstrates initiative and takes responsibility.
  • Detailed-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary range is expected to be between

$71,925.00 CAD - $119,875.00 CAD
