Job summary

DATA Communications Management Corp (DCM) in Brampton, ON, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A to translate financial data into insights that guide unit leaders. This hybrid role requires 2–3 days in the Brampton office with flexibility for other locations.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting, partnering across the business to identify risks, opportunities and drivers of results. CAD compensation is provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 3–5 years FP&A, financial analysis or finance business partnering experience.
  • CPA designation preferred or actively pursuing CPA completion.
  • Experience with monthly reporting, variance analysis, and budgets/forecasts for a business unit.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, including scenario analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare business unit forecasts and annual budgets by consolidating inputs and reviewing assumptions.
  • Support the month-end close process for business units with journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare post month-end close reports and explain variances to leaders.
  • Explain performance drivers, identify risks/opportunities, and recommend improvements.
  • Liaise with external auditors for documentation and samples; address questions.
  • Streamline planning and reporting workflows using automation/AI where appropriate.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and decision support as required.

The Role

As a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A, you’ll turn financial and operational data into clear insights that help technology-enabled business unit leaders understand performance and make informed decisions. You’ll play a key part in budgeting, forecasting and management reporting, while collaborating with operational partners across our businesses to identify risks, opportunities and the drivers behind results.

This is a hybrid role, working a minimum of 2-3 days in our Brampton office. If preferred, you may work out of an alternative DCM location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare business unit forecasts and annual budgets by consolidating inputs and reviewing assumptions
  • Support the month-end close process for business units by completing close activities, including journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations, while working with Accounting and Finance teams to reconcile data and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare post month-end close reports and presentations, explaining variances against budget and prior year to functional business unit leaders
  • Work with business unit leaders to explain performance drivers, identifyfinancialrisksandopportunities, and recommend improvements
  • Liaise with external auditors to provide documentation for auditor-selected customer samples and address general tech-enabled business questions.
  • Streamline planning and reporting workflows and financial models, using automation/AI where appropriate to reduce manual work and improve data quality
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and decision support as required

Skills & Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field paired with 3–5 years of progressive FP&A, financial analysis or finance business partnering experience
  • CPA designation preferred or actively pursuing CPA completion
  • Experience with monthly reporting, variance analysis, and preparing budgets and forecasts for a business unit, function or major cost portfolio
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, including assumption-based forecasts, scenario analysis and large datasets
  • Strong communication, presentation and collaboration skills; able to explain business drivers, question assumptions and manage competing deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience extracting, reconciling and interpreting ERP and planning data; Microsoft Dynamics 365 familiarity is an asset

Compensation

$80,133 – $100,166 CAD per year

The compensation range listed reflects the expected compensation for the role. Actual compensation will be determined based on individual skills and experience.
