Job summary

The Investment Solutions Finance team provides financial planning, expense management, business analytics and decision support across Investment Solutions. As Senior Financial Analyst, Finance, Investment Solutions, you will work across both the Expense Management and Financial Insights teams, providing analytics, forecasting, reporting and business case support that helps leaders make informed decisions and achieve strategic objectives.

This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise across expense management, business performance analytics, dashboard development, strategic planning and financial modelling. You will work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional partners to deliver actionable insights, improve processes and support key business initiatives.

The successful candidate will bring strong analytical judgment, curiosity, attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.

What will you do?

Expense Management

• Lead forecasting, analysis and monitoring of management expenses, project spend and business initiatives.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly expense reporting, variance analysis and commentary for business and finance leaders.
• Support annual planning, forecasting and budget processes, including coordination with business partners and management review.
• Identify expense drivers, forecast risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to improve financial performance.

Financial Insights

• Develop and maintain dashboards, KPI reporting and analytical tools that support business decision-making.
• Perform business case modelling and financial analysis for strategic initiatives, product launches and business opportunities.
• Analyze trends across assets under management, sales, productivity and business performance metrics.
• Partner with stakeholders to define data requirements and enhance reporting capabilities.

Shared Responsibilities

• Support incentive compensation modelling, monitoring and governance activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements through automation, technology and enhanced analytics.
• Prepare reporting and analysis to support audit, governance and control requirements.
• Translate complex financial information into actionable insights and recommendations.

What do you need to succeed?

• CPA designation (or equivalent) with relevant finance experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in finance, FP&A, business analytics or accounting.
• Strong financial modelling, forecasting and analytical skills.
• Experience developing dashboards, business cases and executive reporting.
• Advanced Excel and data visualization skills (Tableau, Power BI or similar).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
• Curious, collaborative and committed to continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of investment management, distribution or sales compensation is an asset.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
