Senior Financial Analyst

Position Summary: Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for undertaking a variety of financial reporting duties including but not limited to financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. The Senior Financial Analyst is also responsible for exercising a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism, while building relationships and working closely with key roles throughout all levels of the company.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate day‑to‑day recording of all accounting transactions.
  • Work with the assistant controller to complete month‑end process, including month‑end reconciliations and month‑end reports in a timely manner, including variance analysis.
  • Maintain regular communication and initiate discussions as required with regards to accounting matters with our northern offices in Nunavut.
  • Prepare and distribute detailed daily and monthly reports.
  • Mentor financial analysts where appropriate.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Assist in inventory count and prepare related reports.
  • Preparation of ad‑hoc analysis and reports to bring value‑added information to the operating companies.
  • Continuously enhance process improvement and streamlining of current processes.
  • Assistance with automation of processes.
  • Other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Actively working towards CPA designation and already registered in CPA PEP.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be advanced in computer applications with good level of experience with Microsoft (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Experience with finance programs such as Sage 300.
  • Good problem‑solving ability and ability to take initiative to solve problems.
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Good time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task.
  • Must have a strong work ethic, be reliable with a positive team attitude.

Job Types: Full‑time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
