Job description

noissue makes custom, sustainable packaging for brands that care what their products arrive in boxes, mailers, tissue, tape and stickers, designed online and shipped worldwide. Our customers range from independent makers placing their first order to established retail and hospitality brands ordering at volume, across North America, UK, Australia, Hong Kong and New Zealand.

Why this role exists

We are building a finance function that can support the next stage of the business, and this is the first dedicated FP&A hire. It is a genuinely blank canvas, and you will have unusual influence over how it gets built.

You will work directly with the VP of Finance and across sales, operations and supply chain, with visibility to the board.

What you'll do
In the first six months
  • Take ownership of the rolling cash flow forecast - a 13-week direct view and a 12-month indirect view - and make it something the business trusts enough to make decisions on.
  • Run point on the 2027 budget, owning the process end to end: the timetable, the templates, the conversations with each budget holder, and the consolidated view that goes to the board.
  • Rebuild the monthly management reporting pack so it explains performance rather than just presenting it.
  • Get to grips with the revenue base: what drives order value, what predicts renewal, where margin actually comes from by product, channel and region.
  • Partner with sales and operations on the questions they are already asking, and answer them faster than they expect.
Building the function
  • Turn that first budget into a repeatable annual cycle, with reforecasting through the year rather than a single set-and-forget exercise.
  • Build the reporting layer - dashboards people use themselves, rather than reports they wait for.
  • Move analysis out of one-off spreadsheets and into models and data pipelines that survive contact with the next question.
  • Develop the metrics and definitions the business runs on, and make sure they mean the same thing in every room.
  • Support board and investor reporting, and the cash and covenant analysis that goes with it.

The hard part of this role is holding both of those at once. Urgent requests will always arrive, and answering them well is part of the job - but so is making sure you are not answering the same question by hand for the third time.

What we're looking for
Data capability, genuinely strong
  • Excel at a high level - modelling from scratch, not just maintaining someone else's file. You should be comfortable building a driver-based forecast that someone else can pick up and understand.
  • SQL exposure. You do not need to be an engineer, but you should be able to get your own data rather than waiting in a queue for it.
  • Hands-on experience with a reporting platform - Power BI, Tableau, or similar - including building models and dashboards, not only consuming them.
  • Comfort with messy, incomplete, multi-entity, multi-currency data, which is what you will actually be given.
AI, in practice

We are interested in what you have actually done with AI recently, not whether you can name the tools. In your application, tell us about one thing you have built, automated or worked out in the last twelve months using AI - what the problem was, what you did, and what changed as a result. Small and real beats ambitious and hypothetical.

Business partnering
  • You can sit with a sales lead or an ops manager, understand what they are actually trying to decide, and come back with something useful.
  • You explain financial outcomes in plain language to people who do not think in debits and credits.
  • You are willing to disagree with a commercial view when the numbers do not support it, and to do it in a way that keeps you invited back.
Experience
  • 4–8 years in FP&A, commercial finance, corporate finance, consulting, or an analytical role in a product or ecommerce business.
  • Track record of building something that outlasted you - a model, a reporting process, a dashboard still in use after you moved on.
Helpful, not essential
  • Ecommerce, DTC, manufacturing or physical-product experience.
  • Multi-entity, multi-currency, or international group reporting.
  • Working in a business going through significant finance change - systems, structure or reporting framework.
  • Python or similar for data work.
What we offer
  • Base salary: CAD $100,000 – $120,000, depending on experience
  • Three weeks of paid annual leave
  • Benefits Package
  • A finance function you will have shaped by the time you have been here a year.
