Job summary

The Role

The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A is a key contributor to the finance team by developing a deep understanding of the company and its network, providing rigorous financial analysis, and building and maintaining multiple complex financial models. The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A will provide insight and recommendations to support business performance and achieve strategic priorities, and will support a broad range of initiatives, including forecasting, valuation and capital market initiatives. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A can at times be called upon to support separate M&A and other business development initiatives.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain complex financial models in Excel, including valuation analysis to support forecasting, budgeting, and capital market initiatives.
  • Support the maintenance of the Company’s financial model including updating for any new/potential business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the business and its performance by conducting in depth analysis of financial results, budgets and forecasts, including key performance indicators, combined with maintaining strong relationships with network sites.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the aeronautical industry, namely by conducting market research, competitive analysis and benchmarking.
  • Leverage available information to drive model assumptions, and to develop short-term and multi-year forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support business decisions and achieve strategic priorities.
  • Consolidate complex data from multiple sources into clear narratives for executive presentations.
  • Proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance financial modelling, forecasting, processes and reports, including leveraging automation and emerging tools.
  • Support the monthly reporting cycle, and any ad-hoc requests, by providing the necessary data and analysis, and preparing reports, commentaries, and presentation material.
  • Support the annual budget cycle for the company and its network sites.
  • Regular travel to network sites and other corporate offices.
  • Other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the position may be assigned.
About You
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or other related field.
  • CPA or CFA designations is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions or similar field.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter who takes pride in delivering high-quality, timely results.
  • Advanced financial modelling and accounting skills with a strong understanding of valuation concepts and investment analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a desire to understand business drivers and financial outcomes.
  • Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative analyses into clear, concise and insightful reports and presentation materials to support strategic decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills, confident presenting to senior leadership and translating complex concepts.
  • Excellent organizational skills and well-rounded interpersonal skills, along with the ability to balance multiple high priority projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with various financial platforms and reporting tools. Microsoft Office Suite and data platforms.
  • Growth mindset with a willingness to learn, take on new challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Advanced financial modelling and accounting skills.
  • Financial acumen, ability to drill down into the numbers, but also able to understand, summarize and tell the story behind the numbers.
  • Execution oriented with demonstrated track record of delivery.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple objectives, while maintaining rigor and quality of work.
Primary Work Location:

This is a hybrid position; employees will need to be located in, or near, Vancouver or New York City. Travel will be required to both corporate offices and current network assets locations as needed for this role.

Compensation: The expected annual compensation for this position includes a base salary plus eligibility for an annual incentive.

US (NYC) $119,000 - $145,000 (USD)
