Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist operations with preparation of any ad hoc reports.
  • Support ongoing business planning and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Complete and review month-end reconciliations and budget variance analyses.
  • Manage cash flow and other company assets.
  • Provide financial recommendations for new business initiatives.
  • Ensure management of general ledger.
  • Resolve vendor payment disputes.
  • Assist with collection of accounts receivable.
  • Undertake the period close process, preparing financial statements.
  • Ensure conformity with accounting policies and compliance with internal controls.
  • Participate in annual external audit.
  • Develop reports using Power BI.

The Senior Financial Analyst will work in conjunction with the Senior Regional Controller to undertake and manage the financial and administration affairs of the assigned regions / company in accordance with Corporate Policy.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Assist operations with preparation of any ad hoc reports
  • Support ongoing business planning and quarterly forecasting processes as well as annual strategic planning exercise
  • Complete and review month-end reconciliations and budget variance analyses
  • Manage cash flow and other company assets
  • Provide financial recommendations and ideas when new business initiatives are proposed
  • Ensure management of general ledger
  • Resolve any vendor payment disputes
  • Assist with collection of accounts receivable when required
  • Plan, organize and undertake the period close process including preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure conformity with internal accounting policies and business processes as well as compliance with established internal controls, including approval requirements with a keen eye toward cost control and accuracy
  • Ensure integrity of financial data and systems and adherence to Corporate reporting timelines
  • Participation in annual external audit
  • Develop stream-lined reports using Power BI
  • Prepare salary recovery worksheets and other cost transfer forms and post
  • Post journal entries, perform bank reconciliations and reconcile required general ledger accounts as required
  • Perform month end process related to jobs (i.e. closeouts, profit recognition, unbilled work orders) and update of accounting WIP reports

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of a diploma in Business Administration – Accounting or a degree in Finance
  • CPA designation a requirement
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior experience in a construction or engineering company preferred
