Job Description:

The Senior Financial Analyst, Operations Finance will serve as the finance business partner providing support to the Corporate Finance and Supply Chain team. The person in this role will be instrumental in cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis and reporting, periodic financial reporting tasks, budgeting and forecasting support, internal controls, and leading assigned Operations Finance team initiatives and projects. This is a dynamic hands‑on role requiring successful candidates to demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, deal with ambiguity, and the ability to succeed in fast‑paced environments.

What we can expect from you:
COGS Analysis and Reporting
  • Lead product costing process in collaboration with cross‑functional and regional teams.
  • Lead SAP target cost, standard cost, and annual cost update process.
  • Manage the productivity model and reporting.
  • Manage the Gross Margin Variance Analysis model and support Brand Finance with monthly COGS variances analysis – global & regional, brand level.
  • Support the analysis of PPV (Purchase Price Variance) variances, including recommendations to effectively manage the PPV differences.
  • Complete the analysis of Other COGS variances, inbound freight, duties.
  • Drive continuous improvement in costing and related business processes, partnering with Data Governance, Internal Control, and Regional Finance and Operations groups to find efficiency and improve COGS accuracy.
  • Support various COGS projects development and testing phases.
  • Troubleshoot costing and intercompany purchase issues that arise from daily operations.
  • Continuously collaborate with technical accounting team to ensure compliance with IFRS for standard costing requirements.
Monthly Reporting
  • Complete assigned month‑end close tasks.
  • Prepare monthly reporting covering assigned areas of responsibility for presentation to the senior management team.
  • Support General and Administrative expense reporting for Operational teams.
Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to complete quarterly forecasting and annual budgets related to COGS and productivities.
Projects and Initiatives
  • Represent the Operations Finance team on the Company‑wide strategic projects by providing insight, serving as subject matter expert, executing necessary tasks, and performing business testing.
  • Lead assigned global Operations Finance team initiatives.
Governance & Controls
  • Collaborate with Internal Control to develop and update SOPs.
  • Ensure proper internal controls relating to operations are in place, documented, and operating effectively.
You should apply if you have the following:
  • +3 Years of work experience.
  • SAP Experience required.
  • Strong computer literacy with advanced level Excel skills (pivots, v‑lookups, and advanced formulas) are required. Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Visio, Power BI) is desirable.
  • CPA or equivalent accounting designation is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of people at different levels within the organization.

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in Ontario is $80,000 to $90,000 Per Annum. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi‑state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
