A leading mining company is seeking a Finance professional in Rouyn-Noranda to support financial systems and improve business processes. Responsibilities include daily user support, documentation, and ensuring the quality of software projects. Ideal candidates will have a degree in accounting or business administration, proficiency in French and English, and experience with JD Edwards. Flexibility for some telecommuting may be available.
Reporting to the Financial Systems Manager, you will be part of the Finance Department. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth analysis of business process requirements and supporting finance users. They execute IT projects and contribute to the improvement of the JD Edwards integrated system and related software by identifying functional solutions that meet the current and future needs of the company.
Provide daily support for financial systems, including conducting necessary research to answer complex finance-related user questions;
Participate in business process improvements and software development;
Write functional and technical specifications for financial projects;
Ensure integration of financial processes with other business processes such as supply chain and maintenance;
Manage master files in the database;
Define the scope and objectives of projects, considering user needs and their understanding of system requirements and available systems;
Identify and execute client needs through interviews, document analysis, scenarios, and task analysis to ensure accurate understanding of the work to be done;
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, analyze and prioritize areas for improvement;
Document new processes, establish test scenarios, and ensure the quality of the delivered product;
Maximize user adoption and experience through various tailored training tools;
Perform any other related tasks.
University degree in accounting or business administration;
CPA designation is an asset;
Five (5) years of experience in accounting and/or finance with strong skills in managing IT systems;
Experience with JD Edwards and Oracle products is an asset;
Knowledge of the mining industry is an asset;
Strong ability to identify and effectively prevent potential problems, and strong problem-solving skills;
Ability to adapt quickly in a growing environment.
Proficiency in French, both spoken and written;
Proficiency in the use of the English language (spoken and written) as you will be working in collaboration with other Agnico Eagle sites where English is the primary language.
Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. Possibility of 5/2-4/3 schedule;
Workplace: The CSD has offices in Rouyn-Noranda and Val-d’Or, QC. The candidate’s work location will be discussed, including the possibility to have a hybrid work schedule, working some days from an AEM office and some days in telecommuting.
You must also be willing to travel occasionally as part of the role.
