A regional government in Iqaluit seeks a Senior Finance Clerk to manage accounts payable and receivable, providing administrative support and ensuring compliance with financial policies. Candidates should have a Grade 12 diploma and relevant finance experience. Fluency in Nunavut's official languages is advantageous. Local residents are prioritized for this role.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Officer – Supervisory, the Senior Finance Clerk provides accounts payable, accounts receivable and revenue services, including data entry, verification, reconciliation, investigation, correction, reporting, assigned administrative services and advice to clients in accordance with financial and other applicable legislation, policies, procedures, processes and collective agreements, to ensure accurate and timely processing of records and effective client services, in accordance with the financial goals and objectives of the Government of Nunavut (GN).
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English, and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
