About the Position

Reporting to the Senior Finance Officer – Supervisory, the Senior Finance Clerk provides accounts payable, accounts receivable and revenue services, including data entry, verification, reconciliation, investigation, correction, reporting, assigned administrative services and advice to clients in accordance with financial and other applicable legislation, policies, procedures, processes and collective agreements, to ensure accurate and timely processing of records and effective client services, in accordance with the financial goals and objectives of the Government of Nunavut (GN).

Responsibilities
  • Accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue services including data entry, verification, reconciliation, investigation, correction, reporting.
  • Providing administrative services and client support in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures and collective agreements.
  • Managing administrative duties such as travel arrangements and contacts with internal and external service providers and stakeholders.
  • Entering data from various documents into the information system such as FreeBalance and classifying input documents.
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 diploma and one (1) year of relevant finance experience in a computerized environment.
  • Experience in providing client services is required.
Additional Information

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English, and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
