Job summary

WSP in Canada seeks a Senior Construction Superintendent to lead field operations across projects nationwide. You will coordinate field activities, ensure safety and quality, and work closely with project teams and clients to deliver impactful results.

The role requires supervising field teams, interpreting drawings, and maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards while traveling on a rotational basis across Canada.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree, trade certification, or equivalent experience in engineering technology, construction, industrial services, environmental services, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience supervising field operations, construction activities, industrial projects, or multidisciplinary site teams.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality management practices.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple activities, priorities, and stakeholders in dynamic field environments.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications, work plans, and project documentation.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients, contractors, and project teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with the confidence to make decisions in the field.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel and work at project sites across Canada on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day field activities to ensure safe, efficient, and successful project execution.
• Champion a strong safety culture through proactive planning, hazard identification, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and field personnel to maintain quality standards and project objectives.
• Monitor project progress, schedules, budgets, and deliverables while identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with project managers, technical specialists, and clients to resolve field challenges and support project success.
• Conduct site inspections, field reviews, and quality assurance activities to verify compliance with project specifications.
• Prepare and maintain accurate field documentation, reports, and project records.
• Mentor and support team members by sharing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and promoting professional growth.
