Job summary

Remote People Ltd. is seeking a Senior Robot Programmer for FANUC welding automation in Ontario. The role is on-site, full-time, with a 4-day compressed work week and a compensation range of $45-$52/hour.

You will own complex robotic systems, develop offline programs, and mentor junior programmers on cross-functional teams. You will engage in commissioning at customer facilities, configure I/O and PLC communications, and troubleshoot advanced automation issues to deliver production-ready

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on robot programming experience.
• Strong FANUC programming expertise.
• Significant experience within custom automation.
• Hands-on robotic welding and/or material-handling experience.
• Strong understanding of robotic coordinate systems and program flow.
• Experience commissioning robotic cells.
• Strong troubleshooting capability.
• Familiarity with offline robot programming/simulation.
• Working knowledge of Ethernet/IP.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Valid driver's license and passport.
• Ability to travel to customer facilities across North America.

Responsibilities

• Program and commission FANUC robotic systems.
• Develop robot paths, program structures and offline programs.
• Configure robot I/O, weld interfaces and PLC communications.
• Support servo resistance, arc and spot welding applications.
• Program material-handling applications.
• Troubleshoot complex robotic and automation issues.
• Configure communications and network architecture between automation devices.
• Support installation, startup and commissioning at customer facilities.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Support development of robot templates and programming architecture.
• Mentor junior Robot Programmers and provide technical guidance.
• Work closely with Controls, Mechanical, Electrical and Project teams throughout delivery.
