Job summary

Eataly Yorkville is seeking a Lead Facilities Technician to perform hands-on trades, supervise Technicians and support the Facilities Manager in coordinating day-to-day maintenance of the Yorkville location.

The role requires a strong background in plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems, with exceptional problem-solving, communication and organizational skills. On-site schedule includes nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of facilities and housekeeping experience.
• Leadership experience is an asset.
• Strong working knowledge of plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and general repair.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Experience with interpreting circuit diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• High level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to independently problem solve.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office and maintenance/work order systems preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair buildings, plumbing, electrical, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, drains, HVAC and related systems.
• Prioritize and triage maintenance requests; escalate to Facilities Manager when needed.
• Guide and train Facilities Technicians; provide hands-on technical support.
• Communicate with Department Managers about maintenance status and impacts.
• Coordinate with outside vendors/contractors; schedule service and ensure timely completion.
• Provide emergency response and guest-facing support.
• Assist with inventory, tools, parts, and supplies.
• Ensure safety protocols and regulatory compliance (LOTO, PPE, etc.).
• Maintain records of facility conditions, maintenance activities, inspections, and ongoing work.
• Support fire, flood and other hazard safety and regular inspections.
• Perform administrative duties for Facilities Manager and other duties as assigned.
