Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Senior Exploration Geologist for the Hope Bay project. You will interpret geoscientific data, lead field investigations, and advance exploration targets through integrated datasets while promoting safety and environmental stewardship.

The role requires a Master's in Geoscience with 10+ years in mineral exploration, and proficiency with Leapfrog Geo, ArcGIS Pro, DHLogger/Fusion, IoGAS and MS Office. On-site schedule includes 14/14 rotations at Hope Bay.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (or higher) in Geoscience, Geology, or Geological Engineering.
• A minimum of 10 years of combined post-undergraduate academic and mineral exploration experience.
• Experience and knowledge of gold-related metallogeny, geochemistry, structural geology, and geophysics within Archean granite-greenstone gold hosted deposits is considered an asset;
• Demonstrated expertise in geochemistry and structural geology;
• Ability to work with extensive datasets including lithogeochemical, structural (surface and drill core), geophysical etc.;
• Experience with Leapfrog Geo, ArcGIS Pro, DHLogger/Fusion, and IoGAS;
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
• Membership in good standing with a recognized professional association (Geoscientists or Engineers).

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

• Reporting to the Advisor, Exploration, you will be part of theExploration Department. You will contribute to the interpretation of geoscientific data from the Hope Bay Greenstone Belt, with your main objective being to advance the company's understanding of known mineral systems and applying these insights to optimize mineral exploration efforts. You will serve as a technical resource for the geoscientific understanding of key deposits by sharing observations, interpretations, and recommendations with relevant departments. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
• Conduct geoscientific studies and investigations to contribute to the geological understanding of our projects. Such work may necessitate fieldwork, including mapping and sampling;
• Ensure geoscientific data collection and geological interpretations align with industry best practices;
• Generate and prioritize exploration targets at both belt and deposit scales through the integration and interpretation of multidisciplinary datasets;
• Improve geological models and advance the understanding of mineralization controls;
• Actively contribute to the support of academic research projects, acting as a liaison between external research groups and the Hope Bay team;
• Assist in the training and mentoring of team members in advanced geoscientific methods and practices;
• Communicate effectively and collaborate closely with Agnico Eagle's management and technical expert groups. Communication will include written reports and presentations;
• Contribute to the geological expertise of the project by supporting evolving requirements of other disciplines which may include mining engineering, infrastructure, geotechnical, environmental, and metallurgical teams.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: Proposed 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights to the project depart from Edmonton, Alberta, or Yellowknife, NWT;

Location: Hope Bay Project;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
