Position Overview

We are seeking a forward-thinking Software Developer to join our dynamic Computational Design and Automation (CDA) engineering team. As a Senior Experience Designer, you will be instrumental in creating state‑of‑the‑art tools and services that revolutionize the customer experience through advanced AI and automation technologies. Your focus on usability, extensibility, and integrated experiences will set new standards in automation authoring environments, helping customers transition from legacy desktop workflows to cutting‑edge cloud solutions.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem‑solver who thrives on tackling green‑field projects and brings a deep well of domain expertise. You’ll play a crucial role in steering our high‑performing team and collaborating with the community contributors to the Dynamo open‑source project. This role reports to the experience design manager for AEC Platform Experience and Analytics.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, community members, and other designers to define great experiences from initial concept through successful implementation
  • Visualize and prototype intended solutions at various levels of fidelity, from high‑level wireframes to conceptual presentations
  • Rapidly develop and test visionary experience design concepts internally and with select customers
  • Use design thinking methodologies to run workshops and facilitate brainstorming sessions
  • Leverage design system standards to ensure consistency and cohesion across products
  • Lead design presentations and discussions with a wide range of audiences
  • Maintain active contact with users through field research, interviews and user conferences to translate insights into designs for new experiences
  • Research user interface trends and the potential impact of new technologies on the user experience.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of related professional user experience design and user research experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in designing for complex B2B/technical platform experiences
  • Deep knowledge of AEC customer workflows and recognized leadership in the experience design of BIM and 3D applications
  • First‑hand experience with canvas‑based tools and experiences or geometry‑based workflows like those found in various modelling softwares
  • Growing knowledge in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and related experience design patterns (i.e., prompting and dialog experiences, presenting generated outputs, and/or simplifying complex data experiences into conversational patterns, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Current portfolio of commercial UX work
  • Strong facilitation skills and a bias towards action in agile, fast‑moving environments
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distil complex ideas and optimistically reframe design challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience using tools and workflows that are supported by AI
  • Experience in the AEC lifecycle and with Autodesk tools like Dynamo, Revit, AutoCAD, and Form
  • History designing cutting‑edge AI experiences (i.e., prompting and dialog experiences, presenting generated outputs)
  • Experience with data science and/or machine learning engineering
  • Experience implementing personalized and dynamic user experiences
