Job summary

Forbes Bros Group of Companies in Canada is seeking a Chief Estimator to lead the estimating function for utility construction, focusing on transmission infrastructure. This role provides strategic oversight of pricing, governance, risk evaluation, and commercial alignment to support profitable project execution and growth.

You will work with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Development, and Executive Leadership to ensure estimates reflect market conditions, execution realities,

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
8+ years of construction estimating experience with utility construction.
Direct transmission estimating experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of transmission and linear construction methods.
Ability to explain assumptions, pricing rationale, risks, and execution strategies.

Responsibilities

Lead estimating for utility transmission projects and related infrastructure.
Provide strategic oversight of estimates, pricing, and commercial positioning.
Develop estimates for bid-build, EPC, ECI, and negotiated deliveries.
Mentor intermediate and junior estimators and enforce estimating standards.
Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Leadership to align on risk and execution.
