Job summary

Chandos Construction in Edmonton is seeking a Senior Estimator to drive cost certainty for Municipal Infrastructure projects from concept through construction start on site. You will develop full-cost estimates, lead collaborative workshops, and guide decisions with clear cost data.

The role requires 15+ years in commercial construction estimating and a degree in construction/engineering, with advanced Excel and cost-estimating software skills.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
• Minimum of 5 years estimating for a general contractor (not self-performing developer).
• ICI, residential, recreational, healthcare experience.
• Able to present complex cost data clearly and influence decisions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate full-cost estimates for all project phases (concept to tender).
• Lead estimating workshops to align costs with project goals.
• Perform detailed material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor take-offs.
• Establish and maintain unit costs, labour rates, escalation and contingency allowances.
• Solicit competitive bids, negotiate with subcontractors/suppliers, and conduct value-engineering reviews.
