Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, biology, or environmental engineering is required.
  • 4+ years of experience in the resource development industry or consulting.
  • Proven expertise in Canadian federal, provincial, and territorial environmental assessment processes, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Experience with infrastructure or natural resource development projects in renewable energy, mining, transportation, or oil and gas.
  • Understanding of engagement requirements tied to federal and provincial regulatory processes.
  • Fluency in additional languages, such as Indigenous languages or French.
  • Experience working with Indigenous groups within federal and provincial regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic input and advice on regulatory requirements and approval pathways for client projects.
  • Consult with regulators and clients and build strong professional relationships.
  • Support engagement programs with Indigenous communities, the public, and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with engineering, engagement, and other consulting teams.
  • Support project managers with scope, budget, schedule, and quality control.
  • Coordinate and contribute to due diligence studies.
  • Prepare technical reports and studies.
  • Conduct regulatory research and reviews.
  • Develop plain-language communications and engagement materials.
  • Prepare environmental assessment and permitting applications across all regulatory phases.
  • Track comments and coordinate responses.
  • Coordinate with internal and external subject-matter experts.
  • Delegate work to mapping, publishing, and data analysis teams.
  • Support business development and marketing through client research, proposal development, and marketing materials.
  • Build collaborative relationships with ERM colleagues worldwide.
  • Apply critical and strategic thinking to influence team performance and deliver positive client outcomes.
  • Mentor and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within ERM Canada and globally.
