Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking a seasoned Transportation Engineer to lead roadway design components for major transportation projects from concept to completion. The role requires expertise on MTO and municipal projects and proficiency with Civil 3D, InRoads, and OpenRoads Designer.

You will mentor junior engineers, review technical reports, and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to sustainable infrastructure within Ontario. Based in the Greater Toronto Area with multiple office options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Ontario P.Eng. eligibility.
• Minimum 10 years of roadway/highway design experience.
• Experience with MTO and/or municipal clients.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads and/or OpenRoads Designer.

• Lead roadway design components for major transportation projects from concept to completion.
• Act as a transportation engineer on MTO and municipal projects in both preliminary and detailed design.
• Prepare and review technical reports, contract documents, design drawings, quantities, and cost estimates.

The role may be based out of Mississauga, Toronto, Markham and Bowmanville offices.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design components for major transportation projects from concept to completion.


• Act as a transportation engineer on MTO and municipal projects in both preliminary and detailed design.


• Prepare and review technical reports, contract documents, design drawings, quantities, and cost estimates.


• Perform quality control reviews on plans, profiles, and design models in Civil 3D, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer.


• Conduct initial site inspections and support constructability reviews.


• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists.


• Maintain strong relationships with clients, agencies, and internal project teams.


• Stay current with evolving CAD and roadway design tools and standards.


• Profile


• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.


• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario (or immediately eligible).


• Minimum 10 years of roadway/highway design experience.


• Proven experience working with MTO and/or municipal clients.


• Strong knowledge of highway engineering standards, policies, and guidelines.


• Demonstrated detailed design experience on complex projects.


• Extensive knowledge in Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer.


• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.


• Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a insured vehicle.
