A leading semiconductor manufacturing company in Canada is seeking a Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to manage FAB Control Systems and ensure operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 4 to 6 years of experience in related fields, with hands-on expertise in PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems. This role offers the opportunity to influence facility standardization and contribute to system optimization efforts.

What You Will Do
  • Plan, organize and manage to ensure the FAB Control Systems (PLC/SCADA/HMI) and devices, instruments are capable of continuous operation
  • To assist in Facilities plant operations including first level troubleshooting and monitoring the critical plant parameters.
  • To ensure that all Facilities services to Fab operations are smooth and uninterrupted all the time.
  • Maintain/upgrade of PLC and SCADA system mainly GE/SIEMENS/AB and associate HMI (Complicity/WinCC/Factory Talk) and its associated networks for related facility system
  • Plan, supervise, and manage Control Systems related projects, upgrading and contract services.
  • Maintain and improve quality and reliability of Control System and resolve day-to-day system issues.
  • Prepare all required specifications, operating procedure and working instructions and ensure all documentation are properly updated and maintained.
  • Guide and assist Shift Engineer to solve problems arising from assigned maintenance tasks or operating issues.
  • Responsible for PR raising , update and follow up on all PO issued for Project Works, if necessary, where applicable
  • Weekly and monthly management reports – such as Incident, CAR, FMEA, Cost, Inventory and Asset update and project status to operational Manager and System Engineer
  • Liaise with internal and external people, customers, vendors and other departments to complete the assigned task.
  • Achieve customer satisfaction by providing responsive, prompt and effective support.
  • Actively participate in all engineering studies such as FMEA and contribute to system improvement.
  • Assist the Ops section manager in reviewing different projects and operational activities in order to improve the existing practices.
  • Implement appropriate measures to prevent/reduce potential for system failure.
  • Site verification to ensure housekeeping & safety regulations are complied with.
What You Need
  • Minimum bachelor\'s degree in electrical engineering, control systems engineering, instrumentation engineering, or related field.
  • 4 to 6 years of direct experience in controls and instrumentation engineering, preferably in a facilities, semiconductor manufacturing or related environment.
  • Have deep, hands-on experience with PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems (specifically GE, Siemens, and Allen-Bradley platforms).
