Job summary

Royal Columbian Hospital and Eagle Ridge Hospital in British Columbia are seeking full-time Emergency Physicians to join our physician group, Columbia Emergency Physicians Association. Candidates must have CCFP (EM) or FRCPC (EM) certification and be eligible for CPSBC licensure, with PALS/APLS within five years.

ABEM eligibility is also accepted. Experience in high-volume, high-acuity EDs is preferred, with trauma and pediatric exposure.

Qualifications

• Must have CCFP (EM) or FRCPC (EM) certification and be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• PALS or APLS certification within five years is required for work within the region.
• ABEM certification eligible.
• Previous experience in a high-volume, high-acuity Emergency Department is preferable; trauma and pediatric populations favored.
• ATLS or STRUC trauma-based certification highly recommended.
• Priority for applicants with research, quality improvement, physician leadership, education, simulation, and geriatric emergency medicine interests.
• EDI principles guide hiring practices for the departments.

Responsibilities

• Teach residents and UBC medical students on shift.
• Attain a faculty appointment in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
• Engage in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education at UBC.
• Contribute to scheduling and leadership within the ED teams.
